While looking for some supplies in a recently abandoned village, Drake stumbles across Grayson for the first time since they parted in the Haunting 3 Part 5. After they meet up they discover something evil and begin their own quests.

Drake | [Narrating] In the four years since Grayson and I left Iron Myre, I've been traveling. These new lands we came through in the portal 4 years ago are vast and uncharted. I've found things so far I wouldn't have dreamed before this all began. However, the price for this seems to have been loneliness. Grayson and I respectfully parted and I haven't seen him since. Armen was presumed dead, but I discovered a few months after that... we had been mistaken. Armen wasn't dead. On his fall into the lava, Herobrine merged with him in order to save himself. Herobrine has continued his path of destruction, through Armen's body, ever since. Two years ago, almost to this day exactly, I managed to trap Herobrine temporarily and used a spell to remove some of his evil influence from Armen's body. It worked, but it came with a cost. Parts of Herobrine merged to me while giving Armen a few bits of free will. My left eye is completely white and has major vision problems. But Armen is able to regain control of his body at times. It's rare but I've witnessed it and I believe there's still a way to completely save him. |
[Drake picks some berries from a bush in the road] [Scene fades to title card as he continues down the road] | |
[Title card reads: "The Haunted" and a pair of white eyes open in the background] |
[Scene opens from Drake's PoV on gravelly roads in the badlands] | |
Drake | [Reads a sign on the road] Uldin huh? [Stops when an iguana walks into the road] Ooh Big Lizard. Big Lizards are gross. Eugh. [Continues down the road once it's gone] So maybe I can gather some supplies from there. With what happened last night around here, I wouldn't be surprised if they heard it and... left. I would've if I were in a village nearby that. |
---|---|
[Another iguana appears in the road] | |
Drake | Ahh God, Gross. [Walks off the path to skirt around the lizard] [Shudders] [Notices blackened tress and poisoned puddles] Is this Uldin? Oh God, they have poisonous patches? Right by their place? Lot's of dead trees, or it looks like the trees absorbed the poison. I guess they lived, but... Eugh. [Enters Uldin's gate] |
[Uldin is a small seaside village with a wall of wooden barricades enclosing it] [Like Drake suspected, Uldin is completely abandoned] | |
Drake | Oh a messenger post. Oh, there's nothing in there. [Finds a pen of pigs] Pigs. Hello? Yea, I guess I was right. Nobody's here. That's... not really strange I guess. Anyway- Bird? [Sighs and enters a building] Anybody here? Anybody? Oh alright whatever. [Peeks into a few more buildings] Should I take the pigs? Ah, that would be to much of a hassle. And then I'll feel that because if anyone came back for food, there won't be much to find. [Walks back out of Uldin Village] I guess I'll just head home. Why not. [Walks in silence for a while] |
Mystery person | [Is stopped on the road ahead] |
Drake | Is that a person? Hey! |
Mystery person | [Takes off down the path] |
Drake | Oh great, they're running. [Sighs] [Reads the other side of the sign from earlier] What's this? "Alduin's Keep?" The name sounds familiar. Has kind of an ominous ring to it, huh? [Approaches a bridge] |
[Music cuts out] | |
Drake | [Stops] [Turns around] Well that was a creepy vibe. [Does not address the Nightmare watching him from a hill] [Continues across the bridge] Felt something weird. |
[Dark music fades in] | |
Drake | Oh great. A thick forest next to right where the creepy event happened huh? [Groans] Even through daytime, I still feel uncomfortable here. Oh that's a horse. Okay. [Reads a signpost] "Alduin's Keep is this way." Holy hell the vegetation is thick here. Hmm. |
[A cloud of black particles whooshes across the path] | |
Drake | Woah! Woah woah woah. Phew... Can't let these things get to me. Probably just things that he sent. [Notes another sign he passes] "Alduin's Keep!" Ugh, I'm starting to regret my decision to go explore this way. The hell? [Investigates water falling into a gorge] Woahh. What happened here? [Spots the mystery person up ahead in a ruined building] Oh, hey! Oh, come on... [Finds a path over avoiding the gorges] |
Mystery person | Hello? (Walks further into Alduin.) |
Drake | Hey! Over- That voice. Do I know... Wait a minute. Hey! Behind you. |
[Brighter music begins] | |
Grayson | Huh? Hello? [Turns around] |
Drake | Grayson? |
Grayson | Drake? |
Drake | What are you doing... [Excited] What are you doing here? It's been like... |
Both | Four years! |
Drake | Yeah! I haven't seen you in so long. It's nice to see a friendly face for once. The only people I've seen around here are bandits and thugs. What's up man? |
Grayson | Just coming through Alduin's Keep. |
Drake | Yea, I- I just on a hunch kind of came here. I think I saw you earlier. |
Grayson | [Gets a compass out of his backpack and looks up at Drake] Really? Was it at uhm- Uldin? |
Drake | Yeah, I was going there to see if there was any supplies 'cause you know.. I- I'm not sure if you knew but what happened near by, I assumed everyone left and... |
Grayson | I know what's happening all over the Badlands. |
Drake | Yeah, the Badlands have been plagued with- well... him. |
Grayson | Yeah...you need some water? You must be parched. |
Drake | Yeah, sure. Why not. |
Grayson | Here, let me get some. |
Drake | Kinda hungry myself. I see you made yourself a backpack. I found that to be pretty useful. |
Grayson | Here, behind you. |
Drake | Oh, Thanks. [Drinks] Oh, I needed that. I've been travelling like all day. [Eats berries] |
Grayson | [Drinks water] So, where have you been all these years? |
Drake | [Laughs] I could ask you the same thing. I've uh... I- Well... kinda hard to explain honestly. I've been uhh... travelling. In and out of the Badlands, but mostly here in the Badlands. |
Grayson | Have you been to the inner circles in the Empire yet? |
Drake | No, I actually haven't been that far in. I've only heard stories about the great cities there. I don't really have a reason, but- |
Grayson | They're pretty great. |
Drake | Are they? |
Grayson | I can't really go back anymore, but... |
Drake | Why, what happened? |
Grayson | Uhh, behind you. [Shows a notice board] Before this place fell, let's just say... |
Drake | "Sword for Hire, Grayson is Wanted." Oh, okay. I see that you made a name for yourself then. |
Grayson | I didn't do anything bad, just- I have something in my position that they want. |
[The two start along a path together] | |
Drake | Whose "they?" |
Grayson | The Empire. |
Drake | Uhh can I ask what it is or... is it not even safe to tell me? |
Grayson | [Stops and looks back at Drake] I'd rather not. [Continues walking] |
Drake | I trust that you made the right decision. |
Grayson | Bad... bad memories over that. Huh? What was that? [Stops and looks around] |
Drake | [Turns around] What? What happened? |
Grayson | Is something up in that tree? |
Drake | I don't see anything. Or, I don't think I do. I've had kind of a creepy vibe all day. I feel like something's watching me. |
Grayson | It might be the Nightmares then. |
Drake | Nightmares? Uhh, could you elaborate? [Cuts through an abandoned building with Grayson] |
Grayson | [Sighs] The cultists aren't the only thing that Armen brought here. I know it's Armen, too. |
Drake | Yeah, I take it you know about uh... that he didn't die. |
Grayson | Mhm. Well do you want to come back to my place? I could... cook some dinner! |
Drake | Yeah! Sure, why not. I mean, my place is a little ways away. |
Grayson | Well, come this way. [Starts along a mountain path] |
Drake | Alright. I'm surprised to hear you made a house out here. Is it a house or...? |
Grayson | It isn't really a house. Uh, you'll see when we get there. |
Drake | Okay. I've kinda made a name for my- Er, not a name, but a place for myself to... you know, sit back. It's uh... not really mine, I kinda took it over, but- |
Grayson | [Interjects] Oh, same. |
Drake | I can't imagine anyone getting up there. I kinda took a- a weird route to get there. Let's just say uh... it's- it's pretty great for my needs. |
Grayson | Hm. Well mine isn't exactly a home. So... |
Drake | Woah, this is pretty high up here, man. |
Grayson | Mhm. This is an old Iron Myrian uh.. castle. You remember that city don't you? |
Drake | Oh yeah, I remember Iron Myre. Back wherever that- |
Grayson | Four years to this day, pretty much. It's up here. [Climbs a staircase] |
Drake | [Sighs] So much has changed in that time, it's- it's hard to think about. |
Grayson | [Picks berries from bushes] You should probably get some berries, they're good food. |
Drake | Mmm, looks like you picked them all, but yeah. I'll see if I can catch some on the way up. |
Grayson | Alright. There is a lot out here, I planted a whole bunch. [Starts up a stair-less, steep rock face] |
Drake | Oh that's nice. [Sees Black bubbles flying past them] Woah. |
Grayson | Good to-go food. |
Drake | Just getting a really bad vibe out of this place. Not this place in necessarily, but just... all day I've got it. [Shudders] These stones just fall- you climb up everyday? |
Grayson | Yup! Oh- there's my dogs. |
Drake | Oh. I always felt like- |
Grayson | Welcome to my home! |
---|---|
Drake | Nice place! |
Grayson | It used to be...Well, the courtyard's is over here. |
Drake | That's a big courtyard all to yourself, man. |
Grayson | [Opens the front door] Come on in. |
Drake | Alright. [Enters] Oh wow. You really do have a nice place. Potions, you've got bedding, you even got stained glass! I'm surprised none of it's broken after all this time. |
Grayson | Let me get the fire going. [Lights the hearth] |
Drake | Ahh that's nicer. Can I close the door? It's kinda chilly out. |
Grayson | Yeah, go ahead. So! What type of adventures have you had. |
Drake | Hoho, there's to many to count honestly. Oh hang on, got a little- few berries left. [Eats last berry] There we go. [Sighs] Well, honestly in all this time- yeah, like I've said, too many to count, but... Let's just say I've honed in with my Enderman half. As you know, I have a little Enderman problem. I never really could explain it, but... I've figured out that there's some things I can do with it. |
Grayson | Really? |
Drake | I've discovered forms of magic that let me do things Endermen can do. Like... [Teleports across the room] teleport. |
Grayson | That's awesome! |
Drake | It's very useful, I won't lie! I try not to use it too much, I have a limited use before I have to recharge in a sense. Uhh. I- y'know- dabbled in magic here and there. I guess you can say I'm fairly skilled in it, but I mean it's only been 4 years, and... only a couple of years I've been doing magic, but... So yeah. |
Grasyon | My question is: You're a mage now? Or what do you call- |
Drake | Yeah, I guess you could say that. |
Grayson | I thought magic died out a long time ago. Along with something else. |
Drake | [Thinks] Uhh, yeah. |
Grayson | [Walks back, looks at a window behind Drake] What was that? |
Drake | What? [Turns around] Woah. What is that? Something's- |
Grayson | That is a nightmare. |
Drake | A nightmare? That- Is that what I've been seeing out of the corner of my eye this whole time? |
Grayson | Yup. |
Drake | What are they? |
Grayson | They practicality follow everyone in the Badlands. |
Drake | I- I always see things out of the corner of my eye, but I never realized there was actually something there. I just thought it was.. y'know, my brain tricking me because it's such a dangerous place. |
Grayson | Here, sit your backpack down. Here. Let me get you some food. |
Drake | Okay. I'll just set it down over here. [Places backpack on the ground] |
Grayson | What would you like? |
Drake | Uhh, I'm not too hungry, but I guess I can use some food. |
Grayson | I can give you some cooked mutton. |
Drake | Yeah, why not. I haven't had meat in a while. [Takes mutton] Thanks! |
Grayson | There's some magical berries in there too but... it's really dangerous to get those. |
Drake | How'd you get them? |
Grayson | The Black Forest. I have a cabin up there. |
Drake | Can't say I'm familiar with the black forest, I usually stick around here in the Southern part of the Badlands. In fact, my house is.. so far it's actually in the water. Not underwater, but- well, on an island of sorts. I usually try to stay away from people, but, wow. Meeting you here, I'm just surprised out of all the people I do meet, it's you. |
Grayson | So, I'm guessing you're kind of wondering what Nightmares are now, huh? |
Drake | Yeah, what are they, really? I just... |
Grayson | Really, nobody actually knows, except... people start making theories up about- they're the souls of those who he stole, but... |
Drake | Oh, he stole. Yeah. |
Grayson | Well uh- |
Drake | It makes me really pissed off knowing- |
Grayson | Yeah, I can trust you. Come with me. [Opens a secret door] [Grabs his backpack] |
Drake | What? What is it? Yeah, if you don't mind I'll pick up mine as well. I always feel like I'm missing- |
Grayson | [Opens second secret door] Come on in! |
Drake | Woah! Wait a minute, I just- Secret room! Nice. What do you have in here? Dusty old- |
---|---|
Grayson | [Opens a secret trapdoor in the secret bookshelf room] Go on down. |
Drake | Oh, a double secret room! Alright. Taking safety, here. [Descends ladder] [Laughs] I guess we have uh- very similar minds. Got something... like this at my home. [Observes all the maps and items] Wow, this is a crazy place! |
Grayson | [Sighs] It's where I take all dangerous magical items and bring them here. |
Drake | Man, I should have done that with mine. Mine usually break after a while 'cause I try to use 'em. |
Grayson | Hm. Is this your home? |
Drake | Where? |
Grayson | Right here. [Points to a map] |
Drake | Yeah, that would be it. You've mapped that place? What? |
Grayson | I've been pretty much everywhere. This is where I've been trying to find right now. [At a long map on a table] |
Drake | What is this? |
Grayson | This, is the magical library. |
Drake | Magical library, huh? That... interests me. |
Grayson | I just can't find where this really starts. I've been looking for this for over two years. I need to... hatch something. |
Drake | But you only have half of it, it looks like. |
Grayson | Nope, this is it. |
Drake | But then- what's the reference point? What's there to go off of? How do you know where this is? This could be hundreds of miles away or it could be right underneath our nose. |
Grayson | I know. |
Drake | That's weird. |
Grayson | [Sighs] I've been looking for it for over two years to hatch something. |
Drake | Hm. To hatch- wait, an egg? Don't tell me- |
Grayson | Ehh, I've said too much. [Walks away to the upper level of the room] |
Drake | Don't tell me. Grayson. |
Grayson | What? |
Drake | Are you the one that has the dragon egg? |
Grayson | [Sighs] ...yes. |
Drake | I've heard rumors of some kind of dragon egg that the Empire's been after, and if you're wanted by the Empire.. and you need to hatch something it's... I don't know much about it. Look, I'm not interested in it. But- |
Grayson | It's the last dragon egg. And that's practically, or pretty much, why you have your magical powers. |
Drake | Because of the dragon egg? Hang on a second, just- |
Grayson | Magic died out when the dragons did. |
Drake | Oh, that's what you meant that something else died out. So- to hatch the dragon egg, you need to find something at the magic library? |
Grayson | I'm hoping there's a book or something on how to hatch dragon eggs. [Comes back down to look at the map with Drake] |
Drake | That- I mean, so if this is a lost magic library where they keep magic artifacts and things and books relating to magic, so then... I would imagine you're right. Like, if- if dragons were around at this time I imagine it was fairly common. Or, I mean I guess. That's not a bad idea. |
Grayson | Hmm. Well, pretty soon I'm going here- come with me- [Heads back up to the second level where there's a map on the wall] The Red Keep. |
Drake | The Red Keep, huh? That's right on the uh... border of the Badlands and the Empire, isn't it? |
Grayson | Mhm. Beyond that is the walls- |
Drake | I've been pretty close to the Red Keep, but that was the furthest North I've ever ventured, and that was pretty far North. |
Grayson | Alright. I also have this map. |
Drake | Wow. |
Grayson | I've been mapping out all the Badlands. |
Drake | So you've been looking for this the whole time. And all th- |
Grayson | Not this. On the table behind you. I bought those for three marques. Each. |
Drake | That is a ridiculous amount. Why. |
Grayson | I made much... I made a lot of money in my days. |
Drake | How could you possibly have that much money? Three marques just for a single item? What? |
Grayson | If you want to look in my chest, this is all I made during my career as a mercenary. |
Drake | Oh my God. Eight marques? |
Grayson | And some rubies. |
Drake | Oh my good God... You're rich. |
Grayson | [Quietly] It isn't worth it... |
Drake | And you're sitting out here in the Badlands? You could afford a really nice home in the center of the Empire. Why are you here? |
Grayson | They're hunting me down! |
Drake | Ah, that's right. That must be the worst. |
Grayson | Any home I buy, they'll burn. |
Drake | [Sighs] Eight marques, huh? That's crazy. Look- |
Grayson | We could use it to buy some new gear. |
Drake | I'm... kinda looking for something. Near my house he attacked a- a village. Moortown. |
Grayson | Oh! Waitwaitwaitwait, don't I have a map of that somewhere? |
Drake | Moortown, right? You've heard of it? I imagine. |
Grayson | I was just there about two weeks ago. The people are really nice! Where is it... |
Drake | Not anymore they're not. |
Grayson | What? |
Drake | He attacked and destroyed the entire village. It was right near my home. It's right close to my home. Look... my goal is to get Armen back. Look, I know... I know that he is possessing his body, and I know he- he went into him to save himself and all that, but look, if- I managed to take part of Him out of Armen's body. Look at my left eye. |
Grayson | Pretty bad case right there. |
Drake | I pulled part of him out- Look, it- it's bad for me, but I pulled part of him out. It was sadly put onto me, but I think that maybe I can store it somewhere else besides my own body, and maybe I can save Armen- Look, there's gotta be a way. There has to. |
Grayson | I would help you, but... |
Drake | I see you're stuck on your own. It's fine, I understand- |
Grayson | No, no. No, it's just- I'm tired of the bloodshed. The fighting. |
Drake | I know. I am too- |
Grayson | Been doing it for four years. I'm sick of it. |
Drake | What do you mean? |
Grayson | [Doesn't answer] [Stares at the Badlands map on the upper table] |
Drake | Here, let's- let's go upstairs. Look, this place is nice, but.. it's kinda stuffy down here in all honesty. |
Grayson | Alright. |
Drake | [Makes his way up first] Phew. Uh, I'd like to go outside if you don't mind. |
---|---|
Grayson | Go ahead. |
[A small slime bounces around on a berry bush outside] | |
Drake | Oh woah. You've got a little slime, man. |
Grayson | A slime? [Approaches it] |
Drake | I haven't seen slimes in a long time. I fact I haven't seen a slime since... well since we got here. |
Grayson | C'mere! |
Drake | Through the portal four years ago. This is the first slime I've seen! |
Grayson | Wait I- I actually might have something he might like. One sec. [Goes back inside] |
Drake | Cute little guy. [Picks some berries] Cool raspberries. Hope he doesn't mind. What do you have? |
Grayson | [Returning] Blight berries. |
Drake | Blight berries? Aren't those really rare? |
Grayson | Black F- [Cuts off to look at something across the landing] |
Drake | [Doesn't see anything where Grayson's looking] It's an adorable little slime. So... where'd you get blight berries at, anyway, man? |
Grayson | Uh, Black Forest is this way. Over there. |
Drake | Oh yeah, you were telling me about that. Yeah, I'm- |
Grayson | I- I think I have a map or something in my... Ehh, I'll get it later, but... So you're gonna try to fix Armen, huh? |
Drake | Yeah, I mean- |
Grayson | Gonna try to bring him back? |
Drake | He's my friend since we were kids. |
Grayson | He's my friend too, but... |
Drake | I'm just glad to see a familiar face. It's' it's really nice- |
Grayson | I'll go with you. |
Drake | You will? I mean- maybe along the way- |
Grayson | Armen's more important than a dragon egg. Armen's way more important than a dragon egg. |
Drake | I know, but- your dragon egg. I mean- |
Grayson | It's safe, no-one will find it. For many years if I die. |
Drake | You'll find something along the way, Grayson. |
Grayson | [Crouching down to the slime] Hey! Hi! [Gives another blight berry] I guess he didn't- Oh! There it goes. |
Drake | [Laughs] Alright, well... I think I'm gonna go back to my place. |
Grayson | Alright. |
Drake | I'm gonna keep this place in mind. I'm gonna pop by some time tomorrow, I'm gonna mark this place for uh... for me to be able to teleport to. Sound good? |
Grayson | Alright. Sure. |
Drake | You wanna come back to my place? |
Grayson | I have to head to the Red- |
[Armenbrine jumpscare cut] | |
Grayson | I'll go get my backpack |
Drake | [In pain] Yeah, you go ahead and do that. Ah man, my headaches are getting worse. [Sighs] Alright. Gotta get my magic ready for the teleport. Phew, okay. You ready? got everything? |
Grayson | As ready as I'll ever be for this. |
Drake | Alright. |
Grayson | How does it work? |
Drake | Like this. [Teleports] |
[Drake arrives at a circle of purple runes in white stone ruins] [Same music as the introduction begins] |
[Drake arrives at a circle of purple runes in white stone ruins] [Same music as the introduction begins] | |
Drake | [Looks around, not seeing Grayson at first] Are you here? |
Grayson | Uh- |
Drake | Oh, sorry. |
Grayson | Uh- alright then. |
Drake | Side effects of teleportation can be- Oh! Hey, check it out, your little slime came along as well. The uh... slime has to actually will to be with you to go along with the teleport, so he actually wanted to be around you. Looks like you got a little pet slime. |
Grayson | Oh. |
Drake | I guess he liked your blight berries or whatever they are. |
Grayson | Hm. Alright. So- |
Drake | So, this is my ah, home! Very very high up. |
Grayson | I've been here once. |
Drake | You have! Really? |
Grayson | About a couple years ago, yeah. How else would I have mapped it? |
Drake | True. Must've been before I occupied it then. This is pretty cool. |
Grayson | Yeah. There was orcs living here, so... |
Drake | Really? Yeah, I did notice some weird designs. But uh... |
Grayson | So uh, where do y- where do you sleep? |
Drake | Oh, I sleep up here. [Climbs a staircase] |
Grayson | Alright. |
Drake | Uh, I like this place a lot because it has a lot of the uh, magical artefacts imbedded inside of like, the stones, and some of the uh, the water---actually----here that runs down is a special kind of water that's used for sleeping magic. It's very nice. |
Grayson | I guess. What are- what are these? [Staring at a stand of poppets on a table in Drake's bedroom] |
Drake | Uh, those are little poppets. They uh... well I'd rather not get into that right now. They're used for kind of, uh... negative things. I try to focus my magic on helpful things, but- you know. There's combat magic as well. |
Grayson | Hm. Have you explored this place? Have you found anything like... new? |
Drake | Uh- yeah- |
Grayson | 'Cause when I was here a long time ago there was like- nothing. That I could really... |
Drake | Yeah, I've- I've added quite a bit. |
Grayson | ...discover and explore. It was all empty. |
Drake | Well, I did discover one thing. [Moves to a patch of the wall with a different stone pattern] You see how this- Alright, uh- you showed me your secret area, I-I guess this- I might as well show you mine. Here- |
Grayson | Alright |
Drake | Press that, [Does so] and the wall over here opens. [Descends a ladder into a cave] |
---|---|
Grayson | Oh, nice. Wait, what about my slime? [Opens the secret door again for it] Come on. There you go. |
Drake | Oh right, you have a little pet slime. This is where I do most of my work, is down here. |
Grayson | Oh. |
Drake | This glass here is one-way. It's a special, enchanted kind of glass. On the outside it just looks like stone or the surrounding dirt, but from here we can see through it. |
Grayson | Hm. |
Drake | It's very helpful. Uh, I've got similar things [Walks to another part of the cave] here. Uh, it's basically just a little area. I uh, spend a lot of time down here. |
Grayson | Really? Well there isn't much to do down here, then. |
Drake | Uh... yeah, not really. There's really nothing down here. Uh... I mean you have your dragon egg, I got my thing with Armen. I uh... I found one of the three diamonds, Grayson. |
Grayson | What? |
Drake | One of the the three uh- |
Grayson | How!? |
Drake | It was in this place to begin with. |
Grayson | What? Show me. |
Drake | It's right here. [Opens a secret door on the wall] Another secret within a secret. |
Grayson | [Under his breath] Oh dear God... |
[The chamber inside has a wooden platform around the walls] [In the center of the room, a metal box floats above concentric circles of runes on the floor] | |
Drake | It's encased inside that. Pure titanium. I have it levitating there through electromagnets. |
[The slime starts hopping around on the magnets] | |
Grayson | Woah... |
Drake | I have an incredible seal on the floor constantly concealing it. [Closes the door to the chamber] The magic it puts out is what drove me here to begin with. I could feel it- |
Grayson | [Directed at the slime hopping around on the magnets] Get off of there! Dang slime. |
Drake | [Laughing] Yeah, your slime might get a little hurt if it gets too close to the electromagnets. But yeah, the uh... I don't want to say it's full name, 'cause you know what happens, but- |
Grayson | Yeah. |
Drake | The diamond is inside of there. Completely encased I'm hiding its magnet- sorry, its magic signature. |
Grayson | Hm. So he can't find it? |
Drake | Nobody can find it. Not anymore, at least. Anyone who's a magic user like me will never find it. So yeah. That... is the main purpose of me making my home here. If I can- |
Grayson | [Interrupting] What did you- Did you just find this place the way it is, or did you make this room? |
Drake | The room was... fairly... cave-ish. I- I pretty much carved it out. You know, made it more homey. Nice, square room. I like it this way. |
Grayson | Must have taken you a long time then. |
Drake | Mhm. |
Grayson | Chisel and hammer? |
Drake | Uh- |
Grayson | Pickaxe? Or magic? |
Drake | Pickaxe. Not much magic, I don't really use magic for mining. Mostly pickaxe. But yeah. Uh- |
Grayson | Alright. |
Drake | This is my dirty little secret, I guess you've got yours with the dragon egg. My goal: I've got to find the other two- [clears throat pointedly] diamonds, and... hopefully it'll... let me save Armen. I guess you've gotta find your uh... your little magic... way to hatch the egg. |
Grayson | As I said Drake, Armen's more important than a dragon. |
Drake | Well, I guess- |
Grayson | He's my friend. Brother in arm. I will not let him suffer the way he is. |
Drake | But I'm gonna use the two diamonds to find a way. They have incredible magic power. Look... If you... If I find the two diamonds, you go ahead. Find the dragon egg on the way. It's fine, but... that's my goal. That's how I'm going to save him. |
Grayson | I guess first thing in the morning then, we have to head to the Red Keep. |
Drake | Yeah. I guess we'll start our journey there. Uh, I should have a spare bed on- in my study, so... I'll just let you take that. Let's go back up. |
[Piano music begins] | |
Grayson | Hey Slimey! I'm gonna name him Slimey. Yeah. |
Drake | Slimey? That's kind of a generic- |
Grayson | That is... |
Drake | It's fine. |
Grayson | ...not original. But it works for 'em. |
Drake | Yeah, why not. So I guess we kind of have a quest to go on, huh? |
Grayson | Do you even know how the sacred diamonds even- Oh! [Looks around for danger] |
Drake | Don't worry, it's- the effects aren't too bad if you don't day it too much, but... |
Grayson | I, so, let's- it! I'll call it it. Do you even know how it works? |
Drake | All I know is that when all three are together, something really crazy is going to happen. |
Grayson | I- Like... What is powering those diamonds to make them so powerful? |
Drake | That's what I wanna know, because they seem to be powered by an incredible force. |
Grayson | Souls? |
Drake | That- just- there's noth- I don't know what it is. I want to discover, that's why I'm studying it in there. But look, this is all for another time. Right now, we gotta get some rest- |
Grayson | Wait! Maybe... the magic library. Something has to be there about diamonds. |
Drake | I am very interested in the magical library as well. If we find anything about the magical library, maybe we should search- Look, primary objective: searching for the other two diamonds. Secondary: maybe we'll- we'll look for the library, because that seems also very important. It might also help us with this main task. So... |
Grayson | Helping both of us. |
Drake | It sounds like we've got a quest then. Let's uh, let's just go up, get some sleep, we'll head to the Red Keep tomorrow. |
Grayson | Alright. [Leads the way back up to the top] Sounds like a plan. |
Drake | [Sighs] Y'know? For once I'm kind of excited to wake up for the next day. |
Grayson | I'm never excited for the next day. |
Drake | Yeah, well... Whatever, we've got our differences. |
Grayson | All I know is bloodshed's coming. |
Drake | I can sense it too. |
Grayson | Destruction... |
Drake | Alright. |
Grayson | Death... [Sighs] [Walks off to Drake's study] |
Drake | Let's get some rest. The night's gonna be coming soon. See you in the morning, man. |
Grayson | [Comes back] Did we just forget Slimey in there? [Opens door for Slimey] |
Drake | [Laughs] Oh no! I'm sorry, this little guy's gonna have to be taken care of a little bit better than people like us, but... let's hope we can do our best. |
Grayson | Alright. |
Drake | I'll see you in the morning. |
Grayson | Alright, goodnight! |
Drake | Goodnight. |
[Screen fades to black] |
[Scene fades in of Drake looking out at the horizon from his island] [An ethereal pink haze colors the sky] | |
Drake | Huh, I guess I must be dreaming. Good thing I mastered lucid dreaming a long time ago. [Turns to see Armenbrine standing a ways behind him] Hang on a second. I don't remember creating you. |
[There is no response] | |
Drake | You're not a figment of my imagination, are you? |
[Cut to black] [Episode ends] |
